When you first purchase your goats they may already have names given to them from their previous owners. But if you get a young goat or if your goats have kids then you will have the joy of naming them. If you are registering them you may have to be a little more careful and research what is required for a registered name with whatever registry you are doing. If you do not register them then you are free to chose whatever name you please.
We currently do not register our goats so we have the freedom to name them whatever we want. But we do like to have a theme for each of our does so that we can remember very easily what their kids names are. This also help us to be able to trace their kids back to them.
