Does your dog hate getting a bath? Try this tick repelling goat milk soap recipe. It uses cedarwood and geranium for the essential oil blend which helps repel ticks. This soap is great and totally safe to use on you too! I have had people say that their dog behaves a lot better about getting a bath since they switched to this soap (I guess other soaps irritated their skin and they did not like it).
This is a cold process soap recipe and will fill a regular loaf mold (42 oz.). Let me know if you tried this recipe.
BASE OILS:
Coconut oil 255 grams
Cocoa Butter 113 grams
Shea Butter 113 grams
Olive Oil 283 grams
Caster Oil 141 grams
LYE SOLUTION:
Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) 119 grams
Goat milk (frozen) 340 grams (I freeze mine in ice trays)
ESSENTIAL OIL BLEND:
Cedarwood 15 grams
Geranium 15 grams
After cutting this soap I will let it cure for about 6 weeks. The cedarwood essential oil can make your soap go to trace quickly so I would add the essential oils after I have mixed the base oils and lye solution together but way before reaching trace.
