Do you really know what the average bar of soap is doing to your skin? When you truly consider all the benefits of using goat milk soap daily you will never go back to using other soaps. I am not saying that all other soaps are bad and harsh on your skin but did you ever look at the ingredients on the soaps that you are using? You will probably find some big words that you do not understand and possibly some type of alcohol. The alcohol will dry your skin out and the other chemicals may clean your skin well but they also have harmful effects on your skin. Your skin is your largest organ in your body so do your best to take care of it and learn about the things you are using on your skin. Let's learn about the benefits of using goat milk soap.
Here are 5 Benefits to Using Goat Milk Soap
1. Free From Chemicals. Whatever soap you use be conscious of what ingredients are in them and what they do to your skin. Do your research and take care of your skin. The Bible even tells us to take care of our bodies and that our bodies are the temple of the Lord (see 1 Corinthians3:16-17). The more natural the soap is the better it is for your skin. Try to avoid soaps that have chemicals and preservatives in them. Other soaps use chemicals for exfoliates where as goat milk soap has them naturally. Buying chemical free soap or soap that is homemade with natural ingredients may be more expensive but it is worth it in my opinion. If you are able you can make your own homemade goat milk soap that is great because then you know for sure what ingredients are in it. You can also purchase it from our shop online. We use recipes that do not use chemicals and our ingredients are listed on each soap box so you can do your own research about the ingredients. Our family uses the same soap that we sell and we love it.
2. Gentle cleanser. Goat milk soap is naturally gentle in its cleansing. It is gentle enough for baby's skin (may want to use the unscented for young skin and slowly introduce soap with scents and be watchful if skin reacts to soaps with essential oils). We use pure essential oil in our soaps because some fragrances are not great for using on your skin. Some other soaps use harsh chemicals to give you the 'clean' feeling (these dry your skin out). Goat milk soap naturally cleanses so we do not have to add chemicals to make you feel clean.
3. Naturally moisturizes skin. We use whole raw milk in making our goat milk soap. Some people use powder but fresh raw milk is the best. Leaving the cream in the milk makes it even better because the cream is what boosts moisturizing. I have noticed that I use less lotions since we started making and using our own goat milk soap. I still use some but not as much and goat milk soap leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. It is amazing when I use a different soap how my hands feel different compared to using goat milk soap. Some people state that goat milk soap helps with eczema. Goat milk soap does not harshly remove your skin's natural fatty acids that help your skin retain the needed moisture.
4. Vitamin A and other vitamins. Goat milk naturally has vitamin A in it and that carries over into goat milk soap. Vitamin A helps in healing skin. Acne, wrinkles and other sun-damaged skin will benefit from using goat milk soap. As farmers we are outside a lot and are very forgetful about putting on sunscreen (I know we should do better). But honestly this past summer I did not get burnt real bad; no painful peeling even though I was out in the sun just as much a normal. So from that experience this summer I think the goat milk soap definitely helped heal sun damaged skin.
5. Minerals. Did you know that goats need minerals to stay healthy? Some of you are like "Yeah, we know that." But did you know that these mineral carry over into the goat milk. Selenium is the main one to consider. Goats need selenium and most areas are lacking this important mineral in the ground. Therefore it is important that we give our goats the proper mineral to ensure they have enough selenium. Selenium deficiency in goat can make the goat have weak kids and other issues during kidding season. We have learned this and make sure they have a selenium block or some type of mineral with selenium in it. What is cool is that is selenium carries over into their milk and what it can do for your skin. Selenium can stop sun damage and possible prevent skin cancer. For that reason alone I think that anyone who spends a lot of time outside in the sun should use goat milk soap.
